Con Cuba Siempre? A New Era of Cuba-US Relations

Teleconference Call

A teleconference exchange on the new era in U.S.-Cuba relations.

Following 18 months of secret talks facilitated by Pope Francis, President Obama announced in December 2014 that the United States would be restoring full diplomatic relations with Cuba following more than half a century of Cold War hostility. The United States will also review Cuba's status as a state-sponsor of terrorism and take steps to increase travel, commerce, and the flow of information to and from the island nation.

What will restored diplomatic relations mean for the people of Cuba? Will President Obama lift the embargo against the island nation?
