This June, President Biden will host leaders from the countries of the Americas—from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego—in Los Angeles, California for the Ninth Summit of the Americas. The Ninth Summit marks the first time the United States has hosted the event since the inaugural meeting in Miami in 1994. It is President Biden’s highest priority event for the region and the only hemispheric meeting of leaders.
But the Summit of the Americas is not simply an event. On behalf of the Summit Process, the United States State Department, as Chair of that process, is seeking contributions, input, and ideas to map our collective route towards a sustainable, resilient, and equitable future in the Western Hemisphere. The State Department especially wants to prioritize hearing from Angeleno communities with ties to Latin America and the Caribbean
