Mark Cohen holds a civilian leadership position in the Department of the Army, Corps of Engineers. He works in the Los Angeles District, South Pacific Division, and is primarily focused on implementing its Regulatory Program legal authorities, including related water resources issues and challenges (e.g., environmental compliance, resource protection, climate change). Working with federal, state, local, and private stakeholders, Mark collaborates on projects and programs as diverse as renewable energy, port construction, economic development, and transportation infrastructure. He has worked at the national level on Military Program issues, including those related to the Asia-Pacific pivot and others associated with supporting a national security mission. Prior to joining the DoD, Mark worked with high profile non-governmental organizations, including the American Red Cross.  Mark earned a J.D. degree from Loyola Law School, a Masters of Communications from Arizona State University, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and English from Washington University in St. Louis. He has received the Department of the Army Commendation twice, and the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service. He teaches/writes on leadership issues. Born in the Chicago area, Mark and his family reside in Los Angeles.
