Mr. Michael Kaplan is co-partner with his brother and sister in the family business, Arka Properties group. Arka is an industrial, commercial, and residential property ownership and management company that operates throughout the United States. Mr. Kaplan earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California in 1969 and J.D. from the University of San Diego in 1972. He is Trustee Emeritus of the University of San Diego and a member of the USD School of Law Board of Visitors since 1992, where he continues to be actively involved. Mr. Kaplan is a lifetime honorary member of the National Board at City of Hope, a member of the Board of Governors at City of Hope, and member of the Board of Governors at Cedars Sinai. He received an Honorary Doctoral of Biological Science degree in 2006 from the City of Hope Graduate School of Biological Sciences. Mr Kaplan is active in the World Presidents’ Organization and also in the Young Presidents’ Organization. Mr. Kaplan is married to Terri and together they have a son named Adam. A family of avid boaters, they recently cruised up and down both coasts on their boat North Star II.
