Ryan M. Miller serves as Senior Advisor in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the United States Department of State. In his current capacity, he advises senior State Department and U.S. government leaders on strategy, policy, and communications related to one of the fastest growing regions in the world. Previously, Ryan served as Senior Economic Officer and Speechwriter in the Office of India Affairs, where he covered a broad range of U.S.-India bilateral economic issues, focusing specifically on growth opportunities in the infrastructure and transportation sectors. Ryan also advised Department leadership on public outreach efforts and has helped draft over 75 official speeches and remarks on South and Central Asia, delivered by Executive Branch officials, since 2010. From 2010-2012, Ryan served as a political and economic officer in the Office of India Affairs, covering a variety of portfolios including higher education, health, and regional politics. Before joining government, he worked in higher education and at a New York-based think-tank, completing research on global security and economics. Mr. Miller holds an M.A. in Politics from New York University.
