Jonathan Vanica is an investment veteran with over three decades global investing experience.
Most recently, Jonathan served as the Chief Investment Officer at Blue Pool Capital during 2020 and 2021. He spearheaded a multi-strategy investment business with significant assets under management. His responsibilities encompassed fund allocation across hedge funds, private credit, real estate funds, venture capital, growth equity funds, and private equity funds. Additionally, Jonathan led direct investments in private credit, real estate equity, growth equity, and minority stake equity, while also managing a long-only public equity book.
Prior to his tenure at Blue Pool Capital, Jonathan spent nearly two decades at Goldman Sachs, where he held a senior leadership position as a Partner and Co-Head of the firm's Asian Special Situations Group. As a member of the Goldman SSG Global Investment Committee, he invested across the capital structure, including growth equity, real estate, and private credit, primarily in private companies. During his time at Goldman Sachs, Jonathan achieved notable success in markets such as India, Korea, Australia, Indonesia, and Thailand. He was recognized with the "Deal of the Year" award for the Carver AHC co-investment with Bain Capital in Korea. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in re-launching India SSG in 2014, building a strong team, investing significant capital, and generating substantial profits. His accomplishments also include funding Air Trunk, a successful Pan Asia data center platform. Jonathan's extensive experience includes serving as a board member and working closely with founders on their growth strategies and capital-raising initiatives.
Jonathan's career began at Fidelity Investments, where he spent four years as an Analyst and Associate in Real Estate Credit and Equity Investing.
Jonathan lives with his wife Sarah and two children in Sun Valley, ID and Los Angeles, CA.
