Ms. Alejandra Palacios is Senior Fellow of the University of Southern California (USC) Price School of Public Policy and affiliate expert on competition for The Brattle Group. She is a Board Member of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (NYSE: PAC), Mexico's second-largest airport operator. With more than 15 years of experience as a public policy expert her contributions strengthening broader competition in several Mexican markets, including the airline, financial, energy, and health sectors, are notable.

From September 2013 until September 2021, Alejandra was Chair of the Mexican antitrust agency (COFECE). At a Ministry level government position, she was the first woman to preside over the agency, directing a team of 450 professionals. During her tenure, the agency handled unprecedented antitrust cases for legacy industries, becoming internationally lauded for its effective competition advocacy efforts. Her contributions include efforts for diversity and inclusion, having led human resources policies that earned COFECE an EDGE Certification, the world’s leading gender equality certification. She also served as the Vice President of the International Competition Network, the premier global organization on antitrust, composed of 140 competition authorities, and as member of the Board of the Competition Committee of the OECD.

Palacios obtained her bachelor’s degree in Economics from the ITAM. She also holds a Master´s in Business Administration from ITAM and a Master´s in Public Administration and Public Policy from the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Economicas, graduating with highest honors. She recently certified in Blockchain Technologies: Business Innovation and Applications from the Sloan School at MIT and on Sustainable Capitalism & ESG from Berkeley Law.

She is a member of the Mexican chapter of the International Women´s Forum (IWF) and a member of the Trilateral Commission. Alejandra was born in Mexico in December 1975 and lives in Los Angeles.
