Eboni ‘Nola’ Haynes is a Professor of Political Science and International Relations and DINSN x CSIS Power 50 National Secuirty Leadership Honoree. Nola’s work focuses on national security and foreign policy, particularly traditional and emerging threats. Nola is a mixed-methods researcher and conducts survey-based studies with R-based, statistical analysis. Nola is a ne tie PCIC's inaugural Amplify mentoring program. She sits on two academic boards, the Foreign Policy Board of the American Political Science Association (APSA) and the Women in International Studies Association-West (ISA) Executive Board. Nola was selected to participate in the inaugural WestExec Advisors Diversity Mentoring Program, a partnership with the Diversity in National Security Network.

Nola has a rich background in communications and is deeply committed to diversity and inclusion work. Nola worked with First-Generation community college students at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and completed a four-year appointment of coordinating a Predoctoral Institute for First-Generation students interested in getting PhDs in Social Sciences at the University of Southern California (USC). At Harvard Divinity School, Nola spent time in Nicaragua researching the intersections of gender, religion and civil war. As a Black woman in the national security and foreign policy space, Nola is committed to increasing diversity within the field at large along with advocating for equitable foreign policy that privileges diplomacy, coalition building and peacekeeping. You can catch Nola on MSNBC and BNC.
