Bryce Barros is the Legislative Assistant leading the foreign policy and defense portfolio in the Office of U.S. Senator Edward J. Markey. Previously, he served as a contractor supporting the Defense Innovation Unit supporting its global partnerships, congressional affairs, and public policy teams; a China Affairs Analyst at the German Marshall Fund of the United States specializing in China's involvement in Transatlantic relations; and an analyst at Kharon, researching sanctioned actors and related commercial activities tied to strategic trade controls, supply chains, and human rights abuses in the Indo-Pacific. He also interned at the Long Term Strategy Group, researching Sino-American Strategic Competition and the China-Britain Business Council, researching Chinese market entry for U.K. and E.U. companies.
Bryce is a Council on Foreign Relations Stephen M. Kellen Term Member, Pacific Council on International Policy member, National Committee on U.S.-China Relations member, Truman National Security Project Fellow, Foreign Policy for America NextGen Initiative member, Pacific Forum Young Leader, Aspen Security Forum Scholar, and a National Security Education Program David L. Boren Fellow & Scholar. Bryce holds a B.A. in Political Science from Norwich University and an M.A. in International Affairs from Texas A&M University. He is an honorary graduate of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Military Academy. He speaks Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Portuguese and has spent more than two decades specializing in the Indo-Pacific region.
