Background:
One month after the United Arab Emirates announced plans to normalize relations with Israel, the kingdom of Bahrain followed suit and established full diplomatic relations with the country. Israel is now recognized by four Arab nations, and that number appears set to grow. Publicly, these shifts mark the first return to normalization between Israel and an Arab country in over 25 years. Privately, leaders in Israel and the Persian Gulf have been quietly drawing nearer for years due to concerns over Iran and fears of an American retreat from the region. Join us as we explore what these developments mean for the region, for the Palestinian question, and what the days, months, and years ahead might hold for Israel-Arab relations.
