A reception and conversation with the Honorable Chris Murphy, U.S. Senator from Connecticut, at the home of Ambassador Colleen Bell and Bradley Bell. Please note: this discussion is off the record.
Chris Murphy has served as a U.S. senator since 2013. As a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Murphy has been a vocal opponent of U.S. support for Saudi Arabia’s military campaign in Yemen. He also authored a bill countering Russian propaganda efforts in 2016. His work on the Subcommittee on Europe and Regional Security Cooperation covers terrorism and non-proliferation; crime and illicit narcotics; U.S. foreign assistance programs; and the promotion of U.S. trade and exports.
What is being done to protect future U.S. elections from Russian interference? What is the senator’s assessment of President Trump’s first year in office?
