Presented in partnership with the Los Angeles Mayor's Office, this second annual State of the Global City address features L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti's vision for Los Angeles as an international powerhouse and how that benefits Angelenos, as well as his vision for raising Los Angeles' global stature.

Mayor Garcetti was sworn in as the 42nd Mayor of Los Angeles on July 1, 2013, after being elected four times by his peers to serve as President of the City Council from 2006 to 2012. Read more about his background.

Karen Richardson formerly served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Public Affairs at the U.S. State Department. From January 2009 to February 2014, she worked at the White House as Associate Director in the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs. Read more.
