In 2017, the question "what is the U.S. role in the world?" divides our country.
Amid turbulence and partisanship, the Pacific Council serves as a convening space for leaders to discuss international affairs with openness and respect. We counter heightened tensions in political discourse by building a community of people from different industries, sectors, and political parties to work together.
Indeed, we need credible voices from all backgrounds to be part of the conversations that shape U.S. foreign policy. We believe that—as we take on big issues like water scarcity, the U.S.-Mexico bilateral relationship, and GTMO—a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion will yield better outcomes for California and the world.
That is why we started the Pay It Forward campaign in 2016—to build a network of tomorrow’s thought leaders from all corners.
We will continue to invest in the next generation of global affairs leaders regardless of the funds we raise. But you can help us do more. You can help us do better.
Now, as we close out our giving year, I promise not to bother you with too many requests to donate. But should you wish to contribute this year, as I hope, we pledge to use your funds to engage in a concerted effort to shape the future of global affairs.
What does that mean?
It means we will continue driving down the cost of participation for young members. We will invest time and resources into featuring under-represented voices in our events and in our work. And we will help up-and-comers build skills to become productive contributors to policy dialogue and debate.
We will continue to invest in the next generation of global affairs leaders regardless of the funds we raise. But you can help us do more. You can help us do better.
If all of this resonates with you, I encourage you to make a donation of any size at pacificcouncil.org/donate.
Thank you for your support!
