We are delighted to announce our upcoming Pacific Council delegation to the Balkans scheduled for April 8-12, 2024. This visit presents a distinctive opportunity for attendees to gain firsthand insights into the geopolitical and cultural dynamics of Serbia, Kosovo, and North Macedonia, with a particular focus on their connections with the United States, the European Union, and Russia; vulnerabilities resulting from the Ukraine conflict; the complexities of Kosovo-Serbia relations, and other critical issues shaping the region.
During our visit, we will be engaging with influential figures, including likely meetings with President Vučić of Serbia, President Pendarovski of North Macedonia, Christopher Hill, the U.S. Ambassador to Serbia and longstanding Pacific Council member, Eric Meyer, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Skopje, North Macedonia, and Ambassador Goce Karajanov, National Security Advisor to the President of North Macedonia, and others. The agenda will include additional meetings with prominent local government officials, business and cultural leaders, think tank representatives, all providing valuable opportunities to understand a complex and volatile region. Delegate participation will ensure an enriching and uniquely Pacific Council experience at the intersection of geopolitics, diplomacy, and cultural exploration.

April 7 - Arrive to Skopje, North Macedonia
April 8 - Delegation kick-off, Embassy briefing and Skopje cultural tour
April 9 - Day trip to Kosovo
April 10 - Government and NGO meetings; head to Belgrade, Serbia in the afternoon
April 11 - Embassy briefing, government meetings, Belgrade cultural tour
April 12 - Additional government and NGO meetings
April 13 - Return from Belgrade -OR- optional day excursion to Novi Sad
April 14 - Return from Belgrade after excursion
