Online Webinar
Join the Pacific Council for a timely webinar: Navigating the Atlantic: Europe-U.S. Relations in Trump’s First 100 Days. The global order is rapidly shifting. As the second Trump Administration redefines U.S. foreign policy, European leaders are reassessing long-standing alliances and navigating an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape.
Learn about these developments and more from our featured speaker, Dr. David Andrews. Dr. Andrews is a Professor of International Relations at Scripps College where he is also the Gabrielle Marie-Louise Jungels-Winkler Chair in Contemporary European Studies.
Why it's important:
- President Trump's return to office has renewed conversations and concerns around NATO funding commitments, with pressure on European allies to meet the 2% GDP defense spending target, potentially reshaping the alliance's priorities and operations.
- Geopolitical shifts driven by the Trump Administration may push EU members to strengthen intra-European cooperation on defense, foreign aid to Ukraine, energy security, and technology.
- The evolving transatlantic relationships highlight questions about shared democratic values and governance, prompting a deeper examination of how long-time democratic allies can cooperate despite differing approaches to global engagement.
This event will be recorded and on-the-record. Please feel free to send in questions in advance to events@pacificcouncil.org.
