A Pacific Council conference call exchange on the tragic terrorist attack that took place at the offices of the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo on January 7.
The call featured Dr. Bassma Kodmani, Executive Director of the Arab Reform Initiative, and Dr. John R. "Jack" Miles, Director of Religious Studies and Distinguished Professor of English & Religious Studies at UC Irvine.
Our speakers discussed the immediate aftermath of the attack, considered its implications for press freedom and anti-Islamic movements across Europe, and examined the current situation on the ground in Paris.
