Bill Bien has more than 25 years of global experience as an executive for startups and market-leading enterprises in the clean-tech, impact, and high-tech sectors.  Bill has held senior-level P&L and functional management roles in sustainability, marketing, sales, business development, and strategy in global and startup enterprises in the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, and China.  Most recently at Forever Oceans, he built a world-class aquaculture team, executed the company’s first commercial harvest, and expanded sales in the United States and Europe. The company’s mission is to help nourish the world’s growing population while revitalizing the ocean by raising seafood in an environmentally sustainable way using AI, robotics, and cloud computing technology. Under Bill’s leadership, Forever Oceans has expanded its concessions to include agreements with the governments of Panama, Brazil, and Indonesia and committed to dedicating a vast majority of the company’s leased waters for conservation.

Prior to joining Forever Oceans, Bill served as CEO of Signify’s Agricultural Lighting division, where he grew a global business that provided lighting systems, software, & products to greenhouse growers, vertical farmers, and aquaculture companies. Previously, he served as Signify's overall Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Strategy Officer, a role in which he sponsored the company's achievement of its 100% carbon neutrality strategy. Since then, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and the United Nations have recognized Signify as one of the world's leading sustainability companies. Earlier in his career, Bill served in senior leadership roles at Telstra and Cisco; and also worked at the US International Trade Administration and the International Trade Commission representing American trade interests overseas.   Fast Company has recognized him for his innovation and impact investing achievements.
