Susan F. Rice, Ed.D., ACFRE

 

Dr. Susan F. Rice is a senior consulting associate with Brakeley Briscoe, a management and fundraising consultant firm. Prior to consulting, she was a senior executive at five nonprofit organizations.  She serves on the board of Radlink, Inc – a digital medical imaging company.  In civic life, she serves on the board of the California Coalition for Public Higher Education and the board of directors of the LeParc Homeowners Association.  She served on the Campaign Cabinet of Pepperdine's Campaign, UCLA 's Centennial Campaign and as co-chair of the capital campaign for Saint Mary’s College Notre Dame, IN, where she had been a trustee for 9 years.

Her interests in the Pacific Council are connected to travel experiences--for US corporations, the US government and as a tourist. Besides Western Europe, Canada and Mexico, she has visited Indonesia, Australia, Oman, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Laos, Cambodia, Tibet, Nepal, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, China, Russia, Dubai, Tanzania, Morocco, Algeria, Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Greece, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

She has taught courses in philanthropy, political science, fundraising and a course in nonprofit management at Pepperdine’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

After childrearing and volunteer work, she earned a CFRE, the only internationally-recognized baseline professional credential for philanthropic fundraising executives and later, the ACFRE. She is married to Donald B. Rice. Their three sons and families live in Los Angeles.
