Senior Director, Development, Business Council for International Understanding
Venice, CA
United States

Max Horwitz serves as the Director for International Development at the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) where he joined in 2013. He leads an innovative portfolio for piloting new products and initiatives designed to support the evolving geopolitical interests of Fortune 500 companies and their work in emerging markets across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia. In this role, Mr. Horwitz serves as a bridge between senior government officials and global business leaders working toward commercial growth in these markets.

BCIU was founded in 1955 through a White House Initiative of President Eisenhower. The original mission still carries through today, to support peace and prosperity through international trade by mutual understanding at the highest levels. BCIU hosts approximately 200 engagements every year that allow public and private sector leaders to discuss economic opportunities, challenges, and shared goals through candid and result-oriented dialogue.

Prior to BCIU, Mr. Horwitz worked for various offices within the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce, including the U.S. Export Assistance Center in Denver, Colorado; the Trade Advocacy Center in Washington, D.C.; and the Foreign Commercial Service at the U.S. Embassy in Brasilia, Brazil. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Colorado.
