Laura Kupe is a former Obama presidential appointee and multilingual attorney with domestic and foreign policy expertise in think tanks and the U.S. federal government, including the U.S. House of Representatives, the Department of Homeland Security, and the White House. She is currently working in the U.S. House of Representative as Counsel on the Committee on Homeland Security. Ms. Kupe was born in Germany to Congolese parents and was raised in Luxembourg before moving to the United States. She speaks fluent German and is a self-proclaimed “Afropean-American.” Ms. Kupe graduated with a BA from the University of Michigan and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School.
