Joe was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and in 2011 graduated from California State Dominguez Hills where he earned a B.A. in Conflict Resolution, Negotiation and Peacebuilding. Prior to starting law school, Joe graduated from the Orange County Sheriff’s Academy and served as a police officer for the Santa Monica Police Department.  In 2016, Joe received his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School, where he graduated from Southwestern’s two-year SCALE program.  While in law school Joe was invited to compete as an advocate on Southwestern’s nationally recognized Tral Advocacy Honors Program.  In 2015 he served as an extern with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office in the target crimes division.  In 2016, Joe served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Beverly Reid O’Connell of the United States District Court. Prior to transitioning to practicing Family Law, Joe spent seven years as a civil litigator representing major municipalities, police departments, and national corporate entities where he successfully took cases to trial on both the state and federal level. He has experience with handling and working to defuse high pressure situations which he handles with professionalism and care.
