Israel Nery is an Attorney, Strategist, International Trade and Economic Justice Advocate and a Commissioned Officer in the Army Reserves. He currently serves as a Mangement Consultant Manager at Accenture Federal Services.

He was formerly the Assistant District Director and District International Trade Office for the Small Business Administration (SBA) Los Angeles District Office. During his time, he helped small businesses in Los Angeles County acccess COVID-19 economic funds to stay open! 

He was  a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) at the SBA and a PMF Detailee at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Mr. Nery was also chosen as a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Law Graduate Fellow where he worked with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), and the House Committee on Financial Services under Ranking Member Maxine Waters (D-CA-43).

Israel Nery earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB), where he was a member of the College Soccer team. Subsequently, he earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Woodbury University. He earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he was awarded the Rickert Award for Excellence in Service.

Israel Nery has also been published in academic journals on topics involving law and economics. Such journals are the Harvard Journal on Hispanic Policy, Georgetown Public Policy Review, and the University of the District of Columbia Law Review. He has been named a New Leaders Council (NLC) Fellow, and a New Americans Leaders (NAL) Fellow for his consistent work to better his hometown community. He currently serves as Chairman of the Armed Forces Committee for the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is also a Board Member of the California State University Alumni Council. 

Israel Nery currently splits his time between Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA.
