Glenn Chafetz is the Director of 2430 Group, a non-profit, non-partisan research institution that helps U.S. companies protect themselves from state-sponsored intellectual property theft. Dr. Chafetz spent most of his career at CIA, where he served multiple overseas tours as Chief of Station, and finally as the Agency’s first Chief of Tradecraft and Operational Technology. He retired from government in 2019 and entered the private sector, working to develop technologies to enhance business privacy. Previously, he served in the State Department, both overseas and in Washington, focusing primarily on arms and export control and sanctions policy. Dr. Chafetz started his career in academia and has held faculty or research positions at American University, the National Intelligence University, the University of Georgia’s Center for Trade and International Security, Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, and the University of Memphis. He holds a Ph.D. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
