David Green brings a longstanding commitment of public service to the Los Angeles County Employee Retirement Association (LACERA), the largest county pension fund in the nation. He serves concurrently as the Chair of the Board and Chair of the Board of Investments of LACERA, which oversees the $58 billion pension funds of 160,000 LA County employees, as well as retirees and their survivors. Devoted to protecting the rights of children and families, Mr. Green has served as a social worker for the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services for more than 18 years. He serves on the Statewide Child Welfare Council fighting for the rights of foster children at the local, State, and Federal levels. His ongoing support for working people is evidenced by his active role with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), where he serves as Treasurer of SEIU Local 721, having previously served as Vice President of SEIU Local 532.
Mr. Green is an adjunct professor at California State University Los Angeles School of Social Work in their Graduate school. He received his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California in 2000, and his undergraduate degree in Communications from Chapman University. He has been married for over 16 years and has a 12-year-old son and a six-year-old daughter.
