Bassey Kooffreh is a graduate research instructor and a doctoral candidate in the Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies at the University of Mississippi. His primary research interests encompass International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, and Criminology, with a specific focus on topics such as War, Armed Conflicts, Post-Conflict Reconstruction Processes, Transnational Organized Crimes, and Legal Policy. Mr. Kooffreh has published his work in reputable peer-reviewed journals across various fields, including International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, Environmental Law, and Criminology. He has presented his research at notable conferences such as the American Society of Criminology (ASC) and the Southern Criminal Justice Association (SCJA), earning recognition for his contributions. In addition to his research endeavors, Mr. Kooffreh has taught Criminal Law, Sentencing, Prison Law, Criminal Procedure, and Criminal Evidence in multiple jurisdictions. He holds earlier degrees, a Bachelor's and Master's, in Law from the University of Calabar, Faculty of Law. Prior to joining the University of Mississippi, he accumulated a decade of experience as a legal expert and served as a Law lecturer at the University of Calabar in Cross River State, Nigeria.
