Anna Schmitz serves as a Managing Counsel at the Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2028 (LA 2028). In 2015 she joined LA 2028 from the non-profit sector, where she worked on regulatory issues and the implementation of California's cap-and-trade offset program. Prior to joining LA 2028, Schmitz also completed a Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship, working on international climate and energy technology policy at the German Federal Ministry for Economics and Technology, and on international clean tech finance policy at Allianz Climate Solutions, GmbH. She served as a Policy Analyst at the White House Council on Environmental Quality. 

Schmitz completed her undergraduate studies at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, and earned her law degree from the University of Virginia, School of Law.  She is admitted to the State Bar of California and is fluent in German. In her spare time, she travels, hikes with her dog, and creates ceramic art.
